How do I feel the present?
What am I trying to feel?
Is it all that is contained in this moment? Or is it the very thing that contains everything?
What lies behind.
The potential? Is the present the eternally vibrating potential for life?

I try to listen-notice.

There are the sounds from my keyboard. The group of people who are also listening in to the moment.
There is air in and around me.
The water. The fire. The earth. The plants. The planet.
The suffering.
Happiness.
That which embraces both.
Love.
Hatred.
That which also embraces it.
The light.
The darkness.
That which also embraces it.
The tense muscle.
The potential for relaxation.
That which lies behind relaxation and tension. That which dissolves both.
Past and future in one, and then another now.
And again.
Like a whirlwind, a silence.
Without content, there is nothing.
All!
The infinite space.
Which surely can't be a space if there are no boundaries?

Improvisations over time

Improvisations is a short, sketch-like format, where the texts are created on the spot during one of the blog team's workshops. They are written in a quarter of an hour – often as an extension of a guided meditation – and are only lightly edited afterwards.

The text you are reading here is written on the theme “TIME”.

is an anthropologist and has written a PhD thesis on life and death processes among the shamanistic Chukchi people living in eastern Siberia. She researches existential themes such as belonging and longing, people's relationships to time, place and space, and the relationship between inner and outer relationships. She is currently investigating, among other things, the relationship of a group of Faroese people to the landscape and the sea through oral narratives.

She teaches mindfulness training, is a supervisor and leads reading groups on the course. Inner practice and working life, and has for many years combined academic work with a personal meditation practice

Jeanette is part of Kontemplation's daily life and practice.
She has broad and multifaceted responsibility in daily operations and a unifying role across courses, retreats and platforms, with a focus on well-being, collaboration and communication.

She has been a regular retreat participant for many years and has been involved in Kontemplation since 2015.
