INTERNAL PRACTICE AND WORK LIFE

Professional and meditative supervision course in communication and immersion

A course for people who want to bring qualities from meditative immersion into their working lives.

This course is about uniting the participants' inner practice with their work in the world - whether this work is a working life, a study or another form of engagement. Who are prepared to be part of a group for a long time in which we will support each other in both personal immersion and in that this immersion can be expressed in the individual's professionalism in their own way.

The course is designed for participants who, for example, teach or/and work creatively, are therapists, or work in other care functions.
Or who are otherwise concerned with uniting their individual immersion with their outward engagement.

Making clear one's professional and human core competencies and exploring how these can be connected to a meditative practice is an essential part of the process.
An important focus will also be the connection between internal and external sustainability, which is one of today's major tasks.

Supported by the teaching and the group, each participant will work on a communication project that is relevant to – and based on – the individual's professional expertise.

The course will encourage and support participants to establish a regular meditative practice.
The meditative and personal integrity - the clear sense of self - that can come from such a regular practice is crucial when one wants to express qualities such as presence and warmth in one's work life and everyday life.

The course's two focus areas

IMMERSION INWARDS

The part of the course that concerns individual immersion will include systematic training in meditation, body awareness, contemplative exercises from Growth Center Pedagogy centered on the so-called pentagon, and relationship skills.
We will carefully review how to prepare, structure and conduct a retreat on your own, but with the support of a community of practice.

OUTDOOR COMMUNICATION
individual dissemination projects

The communication part aims at how one carries the individual meditative qualities and experiences out to one's immediate surroundings and from there further into one's professional life, including in written and other creative forms of expression.

The aforementioned dissemination project plays a key role in:
We suggest that this project be placed in extension of the individual's professional skills and work/study/main interest so that it does not become an 'extra project', but can be realized in the individual's daily life with support from the work and practice community. And thus can be anchored in and enrich the individual's everyday life.

It will be up to the individual to formulate the ambition and goal, whether the project is a writing project, a book, a teaching project, an art project, a web idea, a video project, documentation and dissemination of an immersion process, or something else.

The teachers and the team will support this clarification process.

AIMING WITH THE PROGRESS

To stabilize and deepen a meditative practice and to move towards integrating this into everyday life and into one's professional life.

That the participants learn about the so-called pentagon and other central parts of the Growth Center's pedagogy and deal with how to teach/mediate basic presence and cordiality training.

That the participants experience and have the opportunity to develop in a practice and work community with like-minded people. And in a trusting atmosphere, gain experience in holding space for others.

That the participants learn a set of contemplative exercises that can be carried out in everyday life and used within various professional fields.

That the participants work creatively both with introverted exercises and with ideas for bringing these exercises into the world.

SCOPE OF THE COURSE

MODULES · ONLINE SESSIONS · WORKING COMMUNITY

4 modules of four days which takes place in the course room Sol15 at Solbakkevej 15 in Nørre Snede.

12 online zoom meetings 2-3 hours each (group supervision, reading groups, writing workshop).

Individual supervision
Supervision, where participants have the opportunity to present experiences and challenges from their own work to the world, will be included in all modules. Just as all participants will have the opportunity for individual supervision with Hanneli and Peter - the individual supervisions will primarily take place online and will be agreed with the individual when the course is underway.

Structured peer supervision in smaller groups.

Immersion in individual communication project:
During the course, each participant will work on a self-selected communication project, which can be a teaching course, a creative project, a writing project or something else.

  • For this project, you will receive support both in small groups (peer supervision) and from the teachers.
  • At the end of the course, the participants present the projects to each other.
  • The course is structured so that participants will receive both support for and feedback on the project from the instructors and teammates.

OPTIONAL MODULES

Individual guidance before and after a possible self-organized five-day retreat.

SUPPORT IN ESTABLISHING AN INTERNAL PRACTICE IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Online Sunday Meditations
To stabilize and deepen a meditative practice and to move towards integrating it into everyday life and one's professional practice is part of the aim of this supervision course. As part of supporting this otherwise individual process, we invite online drop-in meditation every Sunday at 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM.

This is voluntary and open. You do not have to register, but participate to the extent that can naturally function with your existence.
More information about this on the first module.

PREREQUISITES

It is a prerequisite that you have, or are willing to establish, a daily meditative practice from the beginning of the course.

Furthermore, you are prepared that it will be part of the training in communication that you will be asked to, and given the opportunity to, for short periods of time, hold the space for others, that is, the entire group or in smaller groups.

TEACHING COURSE

We meet four times physically in Nørre Snede, as well as for twelve online learning and community sessions.
The physical modules span four days, from Thursday morning to Sunday after lunch.
The online sessions take place on Zoom and are led by one or more of the teachers.
