THE MIRROR FUNCTION OF CONSCIOUSNESS

Guided meditation with

video · 23 minutes

Based on the sensation of the body, of breathing, of feelings of love and of the space of thought, this meditation leads towards the experience of an opportunity we are all born with: The possibility for our consciousness to register ourselves and our surroundings with the same open accuracy as a mirror.

In the same way that a mirror neither retains nor rejects any content, but loyally reproduces all that it reflects, through training we can cultivate our innate talent to open ourselves to external and internal impulses without judging and without reaching out or pushing away.

This state is what is called mindfulness or neutral observation. We reach it by moving in through the awareness of the body, the breath, the feelings of love and consciousness, the main pathways inward called the pentagon or the empathy star.

At first, mindful neutrality is quite short-lived, momentary, but over time these moments can extend and become states.

As this happens, in the freedom from constantly having to reject or reach out, there is room for our natural empathy and togetherness to begin to grow.
