INTRODUCTION TO THE PENAGON

audio file · 20 minutes

This meditation and review of the pentagon is intended as an introduction to Jes Bertelsen's meditation 'Feel the wakefulness' which we will bring on January 18th.

The pentagon is a figure and a list of five fundamental aspects of our humanity – aspects that can simultaneously function as five main roads or doors towards our essence – or contact with the present.

The five doors are: awareness of the body, of the breath, of the heart's feelings of togetherness, of consciousness as such. And the realization that everything we perceive of ourselves and the world around us is in processes of constant and eternal change, what we call basic creativity.

That these aspects of ourselves are doors means that every time we work to become aware of and feel them, and from there reach inward, we get closer to our human essence. The deeper parts of who we are.
