GRATITUDE TO THE BODY

Guided meditation with

audio file · 15 minutes

Gratitude is perhaps the mood most conducive to a meditative climate.

Gratitude flows from within our heart and out towards something or someone, and in this outward flow there is very little focus on oneself, very little ego.

The feeling can apply to the world, can apply to the Higher. And it can be directed towards aspects of oneself.

In this meditation we have the opportunity to follow Jeanette towards gratitude for our own body.

It may sound like we are contradicting ourselves when we say that in our practice we try to 'let gratitude arise spontaneously.'‘

Because if this feeling comes because we try to invite it, then it does not arise spontaneously, but as a result of something we do.

This contradiction is only apparent, as Jeanette invites us to experience in this meditation.

When we follow her instruction into the experience of the life-giving aspects of our body, the way the body – without our deliberate complicity – spontaneously keeps us alive, we often spontaneously land in gratitude. For being here. For being alive.

Therefore, the instructions alternate between gentle suggestions for remembering moments of gratitude – and with suggestions for accepting when this gratitude presents itself.

One could say: By doing something, it becomes increasingly likely that the undone will occur.

In this guidance, you can ask yourself: Could it be that the very experience of the body and heart being alive here and now is simply in itself gratitude for life?

Which we can hear if we just listen attentively.
