Writing retreat with Peter Høeg at Øster Løkke

The idea of this retreat is to explore how creative work with written language can support a meditative practice.
Which in turn can help one express themselves more fully and authentically in writing – and perhaps joyfully.
The daily program will be something like this:
The morning will include long introspective and quiet stretches with meditation, yoga, a body scan and a longer writing exercise.
The afternoon will be more dynamic with movement/dance, writing exercises, basic creative training and situations where we read aloud or in other ways hold space for each other.
Both meditation and creativity can best be practiced in a relaxed, trusting, cordial and non-performance-oriented atmosphere.
We will therefore explore together how we can create a space that is as free from judgments as possible, and which can also provide space for the inner play children.
To create as clear a picture as possible of what this retreat is about, we would like to emphasize that it is not for those who are 90% interested in developing their writing and who are only interested in meditation as a support for this.
It is also not for those who are 90% concerned with deepening their meditation and only interested in creative writing as a support for the introspective process.
This retreat is designed and planned for those of you who are preoccupied with both creative and meditative processes.
Among other things, we will work with:
· Storytelling
· Haiku poetry
· Writing documentary
· Writing the story of your life
· Dealing with the inner judge
· To clarify one's motivation in relation to creative and meditative processes.
In ways where we constantly explore how the different creative forms open different paths inward towards our core being and outward towards others.
Since the retreat format can be intense, if you have not participated in Kontemplation's teaching before, we would like to ask you to write a few words to us about your experience with meditation and mindfulness training.
It is not a prerequisite for this retreat that you have any special experience with writing – but it is important that you are intensely interested in having such experiences.
