Hendes kunst centrerer sig om polariteten mellem feminint og maskulint. Mellem Islam og vesten. Mellem det offentlige og private liv og om det at bygge bro mellem disse kontraster.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">I denne video fort\u00e6ller hun om Iran, om sin kunst og om at v\u00e6re kunstner og kvinde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><i>\u201dOn the subject of Iran\u2019s history and it\u2019s current \u201cabsolute disregard for human rights,\u201d Neshat comments that \u201cthere have been very unfortunate and tragic historical events that cannot be erased and has brought the culture into a very bad point.\u201d She feels that it is impossible to think about existential issues without the counterpoint of socio-political realities \u2013 such as religion \u2013 and her work always contains these contrasts: \u201cThere\u2019s this constant reminder of very painful experiences, and at the same time we\u2019re in a very beautiful setting.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">I sin kunstneriske praksis unders\u00f8ger hun, hvilken pris mange kvinder m\u00e5 betale for at kunne forf\u00f8lge og udleve deres kreativitet uden at g\u00e5 p\u00e5 kompromis. Hun ser det i sit eget virke som et problem at kvinder med magt m\u00e5 agere som m\u00e6nd for at blive taget seri\u00f8st og for at bevare f\u00f8lelsen af autoritet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Hun beretter om sit virke med udgangspunkt i filmv\u00e6rket <i>Looking for Oum<\/i> som tematiserer og udfolder den dobbelthed der kan findes i at v\u00e6re en st\u00e6rk kvinde i et mandsdomineret milj\u00f8. Filmen skildrer sangerinden Oum Kulthums som uagtet sin situation som kvinde form\u00e5ede at n\u00e5 et meget stort publikum.
