And what would happen if we followed the river of ideas and whims upstream, towards the source?<\/p>\n<p>The two authors know, love and respect each other&#039;s books, but they have never met in person. The video here is the two artists&#039; first step in that author <em>pas de deux<\/em> which they will continue in the small hall of Aarhus Musikhus on Monday, September 26, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Aarhus Music Hall writes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The successful English author Daisy Johnson (b. 1990) had a literary awakening when she read Peter H\u00f8eg&#039;s novel <em>Miss Smilla&#039;s Sense of Snow<\/em>, which has since influenced her progressive writing. \u201dIt taught me to write about strong women and the extremes of nature,\u201d she has stated.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, the 32-year-old British author has taken the literary world by storm and has been translated into numerous languages.<\/p>\n<p>She was the youngest writer ever nominated for the prestigious <a href=\"https:\/\/thebookerprizes.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Man Booker Prize<\/a> for the debut novel <em>Everything Under<\/em>, which was published in 2018. Now available <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/21dz73m5slQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everything Under<\/a><\/em>, an almost mythical story about the lexicographer Gretel, whose mother disappeared under mysterious circumstances, in Danish translation. In this connection, Daisy Johnson is in Denmark, where her Danish publisher <a href=\"https:\/\/screamingbooks.dk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Screaming Books<\/a> invites her to a conversation with Peter H\u00f8eg.<\/p>\n<p>Peter H\u00f8eg (b. 1957) wrote Danish literary history with enormous international success <em>Miss Smilla&#039;s Sense of Snow<\/em> got in the early 1990s, with the half-Greenlandic, half-Danish researcher Smilla, whose intuitive understanding of snow and Icelandic landscapes enables her to uncover the murder of a little boy and a larger scientific conspiracy.
